Music Box Talent Show
In music today, many of our classroom students performed talents that they have. It was so fun to go and get to watch them perform. They also have the opportunity to share talents on Friday, so if your child forgot today, remind them for Friday! Mrs. Stewart took pictures and will be emailing them to me....so I will post them as soon as I get them. Great kids!

McDonald's Fundraiser
Tonight and tomorrow night from 5-8:00 p.m. McKinley Elementary families are invited to go to McDonald's to help with our fundraiser. McDonald's is donating a percentage of the profits from these times to our school. The students each received a coloring page they can bring with them for a free ice cream cone. The class with the most entries wins a prize. I will be working at McDonald's tonight from 6-8:00 p.m. Come and see me!

Sharing in the Spring
Spring is officially here. One of our awesome students and his amazing dad brought a three week old lamb to school today for sharing. It was raining/snowing while we were outside looking at it, but it was still fun to get to see. The only bad part was students singing that our student, "had a little lamb....little lamb....little lamb." They are pretty funny!

Ready for Spring
I think all of us are ready to get some nice spring weather here. Hopefully this will happen soon. Our class has been experiencing some issues with people not being "builders" but being "breakers". We had a lesson on how to be builders yesterday in class for some good reminders on how to be good friends and students. I think the weather has played a part in making everyone feel kind of cooped up and not being our best. Hopefully, this refresher on how to be good citizens will help. I have a great class, but the last week or two has not been very fun. We are going to work hard at being positive with our peers and with our attitudes. We are gearing up and reviewing for core tests that begin the first of May. Our fourth block assessments for reading and math have been completed, and the students overall did quite well on them. We have had a few students who have been absent quite a bit lately, or are arriving late for school. Please help them get here and be on time. We have lots of information to learn and review before the end of the year. Let's finish strong!

Today we were sad to say "Good-Bye" to a wonderful student teacher. Miss Jordan Oyler did a great job in our class. The students and I are sad to see her move on to her next student teaching block. Yesterday we had Miss Oyler go and observe another classroom during our PE time. We spelled out our Thank You and then had it printed to give to her. Today, after lunch, we had a short celebration in her honor. We had cupcakes, one of our students made a banner, and another student made a cute card. We wish her well!
Second Trimester Award's Assembly
This morning we had our Award's Assembly for the second trimester. These are are Scholar Award Winners (minus one who was not here).
