Show of Talent - April 2011

Mrs. Stewart was kind enough to share some of her photos from the show of talent held in the music box this year.  I have some amazingly talented students in my class!

I love the attitude that shows through in this photo!

This creative student took my penny hockey board and a rubber band and made a musical instrument.

This little dancer was sure fun to watch.  Thanks Mrs. Stewart for allowing the students at McKinley this opportunity to shine!  It was great!

Spring Break and Core Testing

Just a reminder.....Spring Break is this Friday and Monday (April 22-25th).  Also, core testing begins on May 2nd.  All of our core testing is going to be done online this year.  This makes it even more important that the students are here and on time.  It will be hard to have students make up the tests with the lab being filled with classes. Please make sure your child gets a good night's rest, and has breakfast each morning.  I am trying not to stress the students out about the tests, but I am trying to remind them to do their best!  Our class is scheduled to take the Language Arts tests on May 2nd and 3rd, and the Math tests on May 16th and 17th.  I can't believe how fast this year has flown by!  This is a great group of students!

School Play

This year our school put on the play "Snow White."  Fourteen of our thirty students from our class participated.  They did an amazing job!  I was so proud of each and every one of them!  We had trees....

 Dragonflies.....

 An owl.....

More trees (notice the one kissing his muscles!)....

 Flowers...

 More flowers.....

 Beautiful birds......

 More birds.....

 Butterflies....

And they all did a great job!

Sharing

If it weren't for sharing items like these, I would be able to doubt it is spring!  Today we had two chicks brought in for sharing that this student is raising.

We also had a student who won a recent dance competition. Good job!  Since we are back to snow and ice, please make sure your student comes dressed for the weather outside.  I would love to be in flip flops and capris right now instead of bringing my heavy coat, but it is really not practical.  I can't believe we are already this far into the school year!  Wow....time flies when you are having fun!

March Reading

Sorry my camera on my phone is so blurry!  But here are our students who achieved the March reading goal!  Good job kids!
